I began researching my family tree about 2004, just generally seeing what I could  find. My father's side, the Tinley family's origins lie in County Cavan, Eire and my  mother's are a bit of a mixed bag. Her father Edmund Thomas Christian Johansen's  father, Edmund Carl Johansen, was Danish. Edmund jnr's mother's family originate from  Sussex. Mum's maternal line stems mainly from Suffolk, England, where most of us  remain to this day.

My husband, Will Roney's family too, are a bit of a mix. I've ascertained that his  father's Roney side, originate from Ireland, possibly Sligo, and it's likely they  started out with the name Rooney. The rest are from the Cambridgshire,  England area. His mother's Scrivenor side, have strong ties with Lincolnshire,  Hertfordshire & Gloucestershire, with a bit of Durham and Yorkshire thrown in!
